Fridge magnet layout planner

By Fridge Magnets EditorialUpdated

Enter your door dimensions, choose a magnet size and spacing, and preview how many fit in a simple grid.

77magnets fit

7 columns, 11 rows. Each magnet is 2.5 x 2.5 in (63.5 x 63.5 mm).

This is a full grid. Leave some spaces empty if you want a looser arrangement.

Measure the part you want to use

Measure a flat area of the door, leaving out handles, ice dispensers, and curved edges. Enter that area's width and height in inches. Decimals work, so enter 20.5 for 20 1/2 in. The planner centers the arrangement in the space you give it.

Choose one magnet size, then set the gap in inches. A gap of 0.25 in (6.35 mm) means a quarter inch between neighbors. Rectangular magnets can be turned between portrait and landscape. Round magnets use their full diameter in a rectangular grid, so the preview leaves space at the corners around each circle.

What the count means

The result is the number that fits in a full grid. It assumes every magnet has the selected dimensions and places gaps only between magnets. There is no extra margin at the edge of the grid; any unused space is shared between its opposite edges.

You can order fewer magnets and leave spaces open. For a mixed collection, plan each group separately or use the preview to judge the size of a few rows. The tool does not calculate a packed arrangement of different shapes.

The preview is proportional to the dimensions you entered. It is not drawn at life size. Use the size visualizer to compare a magnet with a bank card, or check a ruler against the door.

Before placing an order

Ask the seller to confirm the finished size, including any rim or border. A small difference can change whether the last magnet fits across a row. Check that magnets stick to the actual door face before buying a whole set. Choosing a quantity covers samples and spare magnets.
